Actor Rupali Ganguly, popularly known for her role in the TV show Anupamaa, recently commented on reports of Diljit Dosanjh being replaced in Border 2. According to reports, the actor may be dropped from the patriotic drama following backlash over sharing screen space with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3. While Diljit stated in an interview that the film was shot when Indo-Pak relations were normal, he continues to face criticism. Now, Rupali has taken to social media to slam Diljit for his “confused loyalties”.

She wrote in a post on X, “Border was a film that evoked deep patriotism among the people of our nation. It’s truly disheartening and frustrating to see an actor in #Border2 who fails to recognize his responsibilities towards the country. Kudos to the makers for showing clarity and conviction by dropping that actor from the film. A film that celebrates our soldiers and national pride must reflect that spirit in every aspect. No room for confused loyalties in a film about national pride. JAI HIND.”

Rupali Ganguly’s reaction has drawn mixed responses online. While most have supported Diljit Dosanjh, some have agreed with the Anupamaa actor. A user wrote, “Why don’t you say anything about BCCI as well, who have agreed to play that country in the upcoming Asia Cup, Women’s World Cup?” Another netizen wrote, “Wow, so nice to see a big star like you doing the right thing.”

While there has been no official announcement about Diljit Dosanjh being dropped from Border 2, a few reports speculated that after the latest row, he might get replaced in the film with Ammy Virk. Border 2 also stars Ahan Shetty, Varun Dhawan, Sunny Deol, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Bajwa, Rashmika Mandanna, and Mouni Roy in important roles. Suniel Shetty and Sunny Deol will also be seen in the sequel. The movie is slated to release on January 23, 2026.
