The makers of the highly anticipated Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, have launched the first look of Aamir Khan in the film. His character, Dahaa, is clad in a rugged vest, accessorized with a gold wristwatch and stylish sunglasses, his tattooed biceps visible as he holds a pipe. Aamir indeed exudes vintage swagger in the character poster.
Production house Sun Pictures shared the look on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption: “Introducing #AamirKhan as Dahaa, from the world of #Coolie. #Coolie is all set to dominate IMAX screens worldwide from August 14th.”

Previously, Aamir Khan had confirmed that he would be making a cameo appearance in Coolie, during the promotional run for his summer release Sitaare Zameen Par. The actor shared that he accepted the role without even reading the script. During a fan interaction with Zoom, Aamir said, “I really enjoyed doing it. I am big fan of Rajini sir… huge fan. I have a lot of love and respect for Rajini sir. So, I did not even hear the script. When Lokesh told me that it is a Rajini sir’s movie and that he wanted me to do a cameo, I said, ‘Done. I am doing it. Whatever it is, I am doing it.’”
Coolie also marks the first collaboration between Aamir Khan and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The duo is set to team up again for a high-octane superhero film. Speaking in a recent interview, Aamir revealed, “Lokesh and I are doing a film together. It’s a superhero film, a big-scale action outing. The film will begin in the second half of 2026. We have both signed it. I cannot reveal anything further.”
Adding to the film’s star power, veteran actor Nagarjuna recently confirmed his role as the antagonist. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter India, he shared, “I have a very important character in the film. I must thank Loki for the way he has presented me. Coolie is a full-on whistle film.”
With an ensemble cast, a fan-favourite director, and an electrifying storyline, Coolie is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases of the year. It is set for a major box office clash with War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. As these cinematic heavyweights head for release, fans and industry watchers alike are eager to see which film dominates the box office.
