Dhadak 2 trailer: The trailer for Dhadak 2 has finally been unveiled, two years after the film’s initial announcement. A spiritual sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak, this new installment stars Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles. The 2018 film marked the debut of actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. Directed by Shazia Iqbal and co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Dhadak 2 dives deeper into themes of identity, power dynamics, and the often painful emotional cost of love.
Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri play law students in this socially charged drama. The trailer opens with a poignant exchange between the two, setting the emotional tone of the film. Siddhant asks, “Tum mujhse pyaar karti ho na? Toh mujhse door raho (You love me, right? Then stay away from me).” A confused and hurt Triptii responds, “Kyu door rahu? (Why should I stay away?)” He replies, “Kyuki saath rehna itna aasaan nahi jitna tumhe lagta hai (Being together isn’t as easy as you think).” Triptii, not ready to back down, says, “Jitna tumhe lagta hai, utna mushkil bhi nahi hai (It’s also not as hard as you think it is).”

The trailer then takes us back to how they first met in college, bonding over Siddhant’s discomfort with English, a detail that adds layers to his character. What begins as a tender college romance slowly unravels into a powerful commentary on caste. Siddhant’s lower-caste identity soon becomes the center of conflict. What starts as casual ragging escalates into political turmoil.
A visibly shaken Triptii says, “I thought all this was a thing of the past.” Siddhant responds with quiet truth: “Those who never go through it feel like that, Vidhi.”
As the narrative deepens, their love is caught in the crossfire of systemic discrimination and generational prejudice. The film poses a hard-hitting question: Can love truly rise above caste? That’s what remains to be seen.
The trailer teases a passionate love story caught in the crossfire of social divisions and personal struggle. Triptii and Siddhant’s chemistry shines through, offering a glimpse into the heartbreak and resilience their characters endure.
