In May 2025, television actor Dipika Kakar revealed she was battling stage 2 liver cancer. The following month, she underwent a 14-hour surgery to remove the tumor. Dipika recently shared a detailed vlog, outlining the treatment ahead. In the video, she mentioned beginning targeted therapy. Now, in his latest vlog, Dipika’s husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, shared that her treatment began on July 10. While there are no major side effects so far, he noted that Dipika has started developing mouth ulcers.
In his latest vlog, Shoaib gave a glimpse of their fun day with son Ruhaan. Shoaib then informed fans, “From today, Dipika’s targeted therapy medicine has started. It’s the first day, and so far she is feeling fine.” Dipika clarified that she was feeling tired because she had spent the entire day out with Ruhaan. Shoaib then shared an update from the next day and said, “Today is the second day of the second day of the medicine. She has developed mild ulcers on the tongue.” Dipika added, “The doctor had already warned us against ulcers and asked me to increase my water intake, so I will do that. I am sure it will be fine.”
Earlier in her vlog, Dipika Kakar had shared, “After the surgery, suddenly everything seems to have changed for me. Earlier, I was not able to just sit in one place; I would keep doing something or the other, and suddenly I had nothing to do. Of course, the doctor has advised me to be active. But there are days when I feel I just need to rest and do nothing.”
“The future treatment has also been decided. There is something called Target therapy that I’ll start from next week. During oral Target therapy, I’ll have to take a tablet. I just pray that my body can tolerate the future treatments just like it has done till now. Because everything has side effects, and I’m sure this would too. Just praying and keeping my faith,” she added.
