Back in 2022, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was diagnosed with Myositis, an autoimmune condition that affects muscle strength. Since then, the actor has been extremely conscious of her health. She recently opened up about the eating habits that have transformed her fitness and overall wellness over the years.
In an interaction with celebrity nutritionist Ryan Fernando, Samantha revealed that her diet is very strict and that she eats one kind of food every day. She also reflected on how her eating habits have drastically changed compared to her teenage years when she was an unapologetic foodie.
She said, “My diet is a bit strict. It is nowhere close to what it was when I was a teenager. I was a big foodie, junk food pro max. I thought I was invincible, nothing affected me. When I was young, I was on the skinnier side and never really put on weight and could eat anything, at least that’s what I thought. I didn’t know that it was not just about the weight, but also about inflammation that could manifest in many other ways.”
Samantha went on to share more details about her current diet, explaining that she now only consumes anti-inflammatory ingredients. She said, “My diet is mostly anti-inflammatory. It’s basically about finding what does not work for you and eliminating that. There are no cheat days, it is the same kind of food for me every day and I am used to it.”
The Oh Baby star also listed out some ingredients and vegetables that are staples in her kitchen. She said, “As a must find, you will find cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, brussels sprouts. Spinach and kale don’t agree with me, and I don’t know how to explain this to people. You will also find celery, acai berry, turmeric, ghee, cold pressed oils, so lot of good fats. You won’t find gluten and I would love to shop organic but sometimes it is not possible.”
Samantha also admitted that she never skips meals and ensures she eats all three — breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “I do breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maybe my breakfast is mostly smoothies. This is followed by lunch and dinner.”
The actor further revealed that she doesn’t employ a fancy chef to prepare her meals. Instead, her all-rounder assistant has learned to cook her food and even accompanies her to sets. “I don’t have a fancy chef, but my assistant, who didn’t know how to make coffee, miraculous learned how to make all the food that I eat, and he cooks for me on the set.”
