Superstar Shah Rukh Khan won his first ever National Award at the 71st National Film awards. His close friends, Karan Johar and Rani Mukerji, were also honoured in different categories. Shah Rukh’s wife, entrepreneur Gauri Khan, recently celebrated his win and extended her congratulations to both Rani and Karan. Their daughter, Suhana Khan, also expressed immense pride and joy over her father’s achievement on social media.

Gauri took to Instagram to share a couple of photos from a recent get-together. In the first picture, she is seen posing for a cheerful selfie with SRK and Rani. The second photo features Rani taking a selfie with Gauri and Karan. She captioned the post, “Three of my absolute favourites just WON big…and so did our hearts. When talent meets goodness, magic happens – So proud, and so ready to brag about them forever!”

Suhana Khan celebrated her father’s achievement by posting an old black and white photo on her Instagram handle. Along with the picture, she wrote an emotional note which read, “From bedtime stories to stories that leave a mark, No one tells them like you. Congratulations, love you the most @iamsrk.”

Shah Rukh Khan was honoured with his first National Film Award for his performance in Atlee’s Jawan. He shared the Best Actor award with Vikrant Massey for 12th Fail, which also won the award for Best Feature Film. Rani Mukerji received the Best Actress award for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway. Meanwhile, filmmaker Karan Johar was honoured with the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The winners of the National Film Awards were announced on August 1 during a press conference held in Delhi.

After his National award win, King Khan posted a video message thanking his fans, on Instagram. He said, “A national award is not just about achievement. It’s a reminder that what I do matters. This award is for you, as each award is. And yeah, I would love to spread my arms for you and share my love, but I’m a bit indisposed. But don’t worry, just keep the popcorn ready. I’ll be back in theatres and soon on the screen. So till then, just with one hand. Ready.”

On the work front, father-daughter duo Suhana Khan and Shah Rukh are set to share screen space in the upcoming film King. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the movie also features Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles.
