Hyundai has rolled out a software update for the Creta Electric, improving claimed range and enabling 100 kW DC fast charging and cutting charging time.
Hyundai has rolled out a software update for the Creta Electric that brings meaningful improvements to charging speeds and claimed driving range, without any hardware changes.
With the update, Hyundai has revised the claimed range figures for both battery options. The 42 kWh version now claims a range of around 420 km, up from about 390 km earlier. Meanwhile, the larger 51.4 kWh battery variant sees its claimed range increase to roughly 510 km, compared to the earlier figure of around 473 km.
The bigger highlight is the improvement in DC fast charging capability. The Creta Electric can now support charging speeds of up to 100 kW, doubling the earlier 50 kW limit. This allows the battery to charge from 10 per cent to 80 per cent in approximately 39 minutes, compared to nearly an hour previously. The Kia Carens EV, which shares its electrical components with the Creta EV, already supported the 100 kW charging, but for some reason, Creta EV owners had to wait for this update. Speaking of updates, the OTA update is being rolled out in a phased manner, so slowly all customers will get the new faster charging and longer claimed range.
Importantly, these gains come purely through software optimisation. Hyundai has updated systems such as the battery management and vehicle control software, meaning existing owners can benefit from the upgrade without requiring any physical changes to the car.
Apart from the improved charging and range figures, the Creta Electric remains unchanged. It continues to be offered with the same battery options, motor setup, design and feature list.

The Hyundai Creta Electric is currently priced between ₹18.02 lakh and ₹24.70 lakh ex-showroom, and this update makes it a more practical and competitive option in India’s fast-growing electric SUV space.
