Earlier this year, singer Armaan Malik revealed he’s severed ties with his parents — veteran music composer Daboo Malik and Jyoti Malik. Weeks after that, Armaan’s elder brother and composer Amaal Mallik also followed suit. He claimed while his bond with Armaan is “stronger than ever,” he blamed their parents for creating a gap between the two brothers.
Now, Daboo has reached out to Amaal on Instagram after the latter opened up on issues he’s faced in his love life in the past. He claimed that an ex-girlfriend had dumped him because of his “Muslim background,” although he maintains “there is not even I of Islam in me.” She’d even asked Amaal to gatecrash her wedding.
Daboo Malik commented on SCREEN’s Instagram post detailing these revelations by Amaal. “Son… Remember your father is always there… I know your pain and I love you to eternity… There can be no one like you…,” he wrote. Amaal is yet to respond to his father’s comment.
In March, Amaal Malik had shared on his Instagram handle, “Today, I stand at a point where I have been robbed of my peace, drained emotionally & maybe financially too but that’s the least of my concerns. What really matters is that I am clinically depressed because of these happenings. Yes I have only myself to blame for my actions but my self-worth has been diminished countless times by actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul.”
“Journey has been terrific for the both of us but the actions of my parents have been the reason we as brothers have gone too far from one another,” he added. Amaal further said he is “stepping away from these personal ties” and that his interactions with his family will be strictly professional from now on.
“This isn’t a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life, piece by piece, with honesty and strength,” he wrote. However, Amaal deleted his post later and asked fans to “sensationalise & give negative headlines to my vulnerability.”
“It’s taken a lot for me to open up & it is a very tough time for me… I will always love my family but for now, from afar. Nothing changes between us brothers, Armaan and I are one and nothing can come between us,” he added.

Amaal Malik was also present at Armaan Malik’s wedding as the latter tied the knot with girlfriend Aashna Shroff in April. “Tu hi mera Ghar (you’re my only home) (red heart emoji),” Armaan had captioned the Instagram post in which he shared pictures with his newlywed wife.
