Akshay Kumar started his year with Sky Force with debutant Veer Pahariya. That was a film about the valour of the Indian Air Force, a film against the backdrop of a true story that falls under the genre of drama.

His next was Kesari Chapter 2, again inspired by true events, the aftermath of the Jallianwallah Bagh massacre. Kumar played a lawyer in an intense and impressive performance. It was a commercial success, and also starred R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday.

Come September, it’s time for the audiences to witness the courtroom battle between Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi in Jolly LLB 3. This is the one film that should be able to deliver both critically and commercially.
