Ekta Kapoor is ready to bring back Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 on Indian television in six days. And ahead of the show’s premiere, the cast for the new season has been unveiled. While Smriti Irani returns as Tulsi Virani after 25 years, Amar Upadhyay will also be joining the show as Mihir Virani. The actor’s first glimpse of the new season was shared on Tuesday. In the video, Amar Upadhyay revealed that when he was contacted for the show again, he thought Ekta Kapoor was pulling a prank.
Amar says in the video, “I don’t believe that Kyunki is happening, it’s unbelievable to bring everyone together again, plus it’s an iconic show, bringing it back is a big deal. Tanu from Balaji had called me to block my dates and said we are doing Kyunki season 2. Initially, I couldn’t believe it, thought it was a prank.”
Talking about sharing screen space with Tulsi Virani once again, Amar said, “The first question I asked was if Smriti was playing Tulsi, and they said yes. I will be meeting Smriti after a long time; we have always been good friends on set. We hit it off very well. So, we will pick it up from where we left off.”
Other members from the original cast who will be joining the show are Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Ritu Seth, Shakti Sagar, Kamalika Guha Thakurta, and Ketki Dave. It was also recently announced that Rohit Suchanti, Aman Gandhi, and Shagun Sharma will also join the cast of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. From the initial promos, the show hints at showcasing a storyline centered on how the generational gap appears to have affected relationships in Shanti Niketan. The Ekta Kapoor show will air on Star Plus from 29th July at 10:30 pm.
