The makers of the Rajinikanth film Coolie on Friday dropped the second single from the movie titled “Monica”. The music video of the song features Pooja Hedge and Soubin Shahir. The Anirudh Ravichander composition is a no frills, energetic number, which seems to be perfect for a movie which already promises too much spectacle with the cast that has already been announced.
The lyrics of the track have been penned by Vishnu Edavan with the energetic vocals of Subhashini and Anirudh. The composer shared the song’s video on his X handle and wrote, “#Monica is here to rock the dance floor!”

With Pooja Hegde and Soubin Shahir burning the dance floor, “Monica” is garnering positive reactions from fans on social media. “Pooja Hegde dominated the song with her energy and dance. ABSOLUTE madness,” a fan wrote. Another user commented, “One of the best things about Monica is Soubin Shahir going absolutely insaneeeeee never seen him dance with this much energy before. He is soo happyyy doing it.” “Never liked Pooja Hegde this much she’s full of grace in this sequence! And Soubin is killing it too!” a comment read.

Backed by Sun Pictures and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Coolie is set to hit theatres on August 14. It features a stellar cast, including Aamir Khan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj, with Pooja Hegde making a special appearance for the song “Monica”. This film marks Aamir and Rajinikanth’s reunion after 30 years, since their 1995 collaboration Aatank Hi Aatank, directed by Dilip Shankar. The movie is set to clash with Hrithik Roshan, NTR and Kiara Advani’s War 2 at the box office.
