Farah Khan and her cook Dilip are back with another vlog – this time, they were invited by producer Jackky Bhagnani and his wife, actor Rakul Preet Singh at their luxury house. In the video, the director opened up about her 2010 film Tees Maar Khan’s failure and how the industry celebrated it. On the other hand, the producer revealed that his father Vashu Bhagnani used to sell sarees on the footpath during his initial days in showbiz.
The vlog started with Dilip and Farah arriving at their house, only to end up on the wrong floor. Jacky and Rakulpreet’s home lift is just the cherry on top of their dreamy abode. As they knocked the door standing in their lavish lobby, the celebrity couple welcomed them. From several living rooms, beautiful pool area to a timeless white marble furnished kitchen, their home had everything. “Jackky, hum logon ko bhi producer banna hai,” Farah said. He replied, “Producer nahi banna.” She laughed and responded, “Don’t become a producer, because they had ten floors earlier and after they became producers, only 5 are left.”
After introducing the filmmaker to their team of cooks, they started making sindhi mutton. As Farah Khan praised their stunning kitchen, Jackky joked, “When we started dating, Rakul saw the kitchen and said yes. I hate standing in the kitchen, but I thought agar kuch banaana bhi pada toh yeh acha hai.” As they gave her a home tour, she asked, “Tell me, how did all this happen, by producing, father’s real estate or your acting? I have to know which direction to go in.”
“It’s a combination, it’s nothing like that. Films will always be first love, lekin…,” he said. “Paisaaaa,” Farah pointed out while laughing.
When asked about their first date and relationship, the producer shared, “During the lockdown, our common friend called me and said that I have a friend Rakulpreet Singh, it’s her brother’s birthday and they need a vodka bottle. It was already 60 days into the lockdown, my parents were stuck in London. Other neighbours in the building hadn’t shifted back then, so I was alone in the 16-floor building. I felt it was a good chance for human interaction for a vodka bottle. Abhi bulaao!”

“Me, my brother, we came in PPE kits, sanitized the bottle and took it from him. We never invited him, took the bottle and went away,” Rakulpreet said, while regretting for not inviting him to the party. “After 15 days, her brother asked for another bottle. Maine bola iss baar kuch khaana toh le aao,” he added. Then, the duo became friends, chatting, and started dating after a year.

They continued having a conversation while showing more spaces in the house – a huge mandir room, balcony, mini pool area, party room with a bar area. Their love story bloomed when Jackky invited Rakulpreet for their first date in house. While sitting in the same room, she revealed, “He was going to leave for London and wanted to meet before leaving on Diwali.”
“The highlight was that I put music because I am a dancer. I did everything, she didn’t even move,” he said.
As they entered another hall of the many halls, Jackky Bhagnani shared that this is a dance floor turned hall. “His parties were very famous before I met him. I have never seen that side of him,” Rakul said.
Jackky also spoke about how people in the film industry gave mean comments about his film with Akshay that came out during Covid, Bellbottom, regarding its box office status.

Farah Khan instantly recalled the failure of her 2010 directorial Tees Maar Khan and added, “In our industry, more than being happy for your success, people are happy for other people’s failure. I remember during Tees Maar Khan release, there was literally a celebration in the film industry. People who I have worked with were like, ‘Abhi aayi na line par’. Tees Maar Khan is a legend among the GenZ, they don’t care about my other films. Karenge, banayenge, aur badi banayenge.”
Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani’s production house Pooja Entertainment faced a big blow after Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s major box office failure. Farah then mentioned how the Bhagnanis must have gotten affected after their last failure. “That was a big one ya. People get destroyed. For you to just keep on going, Vashu ji deserves a hats-off.” Jackky replied, “Our training comes from him only. Footpath par saree bechte the. I wasn’t born at that time. But in front of me also, the same thing happened during Om Jai Jagdish, I have seen him going from zero to ‘chalo saath mein milke banaate hain’ 3-4 times,” Jackky said, revealing his father and producer Vashu Bhagnani’s struggles.
After handing them some amazing gifts and tasting the mutton, they headed back home. The episode is available on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel.
