The National Sample Survey Office (NSO), an organisation under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), announced the launch of its innovative new mobile application, GoIStats, on the occasion of Statistics Day 2025.
The GoIStats app embodies NSO’s commitment to creating a comprehensive data ecosystem, making official statistics readily available ‘on the go.’ It marks the completion of an ideal digital bouquet for NSO, complementing its existing website and portal.
A key highlight of the application is its interactive ‘Key Trends’ dashboard. This feature offers dynamic visualisations of critical metrics, including Gross Domestic Product (GDP), inflation rates, and employment data, providing users with instant insights into the nation’s economic pulse.
Users will gain direct, unhindered access to NSO’s extensive database through the ‘Products’ section, which facilitates one-click CSV downloads for seamless data acquisition.
The app also offers advanced filtering and search capabilities, enriched with comprehensive metadata, alongside mobile-optimised data tables for convenient viewing on any device.
GoIStats prioritises visual data storytelling to make complex statistics digestible for a wider audience. It includes a curated infographics section that transforms intricate data into easily understandable insights. Interactive charts and graphs are accompanied by clear contextual explanations, and social sharing features are integrated to foster data literacy across communities.
Furthermore, a comprehensive publication section within the app offers users instant access to NSO reports and publications with immediate download functionality. To keep users informed, the app provides regular updates aligned with NSO’s publication calendar through its notification facility.
