Ranveer Singh is back with Aditya Dhar’s upcoming action drama Dhurandhar. The film’s intense first look was released by the makers on July 6. In the 2-minute 39-second long teaser, the 20-year-old girl Sara Arjun has caught everyone’s attention. She will be romancing the 40-year-old actor in the film in her big Bollywood debut. Who is Sara Arjun?
Sara Arjun is a young Indian actor, who has been working in the film industry since she was an infant. She was born in Mumbai on June 18, 2005 and brought up in the same city. The actor is the daughter of actor Raj Arjun, who has been awarded for movies such as Thalaivi, Dear Comrade, Secret Superstar, Thalaivi, and Watchman, and dance teacher Sanya Arjun. Her mother also actively manages Sara’s career. In the past few years, she has featured in over 100 advertisements. Her on-screen presence made her one of the most popular child artists in India.

Started acting as a toddler
Sara Arjun started her acting career even before she turned two. She entered the entertainment world before she could speak complete sentences. Sara started doing TV commercials when she was just 18 months old and appearing in over 100 ads by the time she turned five. From big brands such as LIC, McDonald’s and Maggi to detergent and chocolate commercials, the actor became a popular face in Indian households long before taking up films. According to an Indian Express article from 2006, Sara has been modelling since she was 21-month-old.

The actor, who has 59.6K followers on Instagram, became a household name right after her debut Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal (2011). She featured alongside actor Vikram. At the age of 6, she played the role of Nila, the daughter of a man with special needs. The film was a hit and achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success. Sara Arjun was last in the headlines when she portrayed the younger version of Aishwarya Rai’s character in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan. Besides that, she was also seen in Hindi films like Ek Thi Daayan, 404, Jazbaa, and The Song of Scorpions and Tamil movies Saivam and Sillu Karupatti, among others.
As per a report by Indulge, Sara earned approximately Rs 4 lakh per movie. Several of her films went on to collect Rs 800 crore worldwide, including PS1. According to Gulte, she became the highest-paid child actress in India, reportedly earning around Rs 10 crore by 2023 – everything just by the age of 18.

Dhurandhar was announced by actor Ranveer Singh in July last year. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal in key roles. It is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 5, 2025. It is based on real-life events, and shows the story of a secret Indian agent on a mission that spans decades. However, the casting of the movie has sparked a debate due to the age gap between actors. Sara is currently 20 years old, while Ranveer is 40. Netizens have pointed out that she was still a child when Ranveer made his debut in Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010. This 20-year age gap has made people call the pairing uncomfortable.
