It is often said that home is where our story begins, and in the case of actor-television personality Archana Puran Singh and her family, this couldn’t be more true. Their stunning bungalow in Mumbai’s Madh Island not only exudes the lavishness typical of celebrity residences but also radiates a sense of tranquillity, highlighting that this is a place where the family, after a long and hectic day, can return for serenity. It’s their promised land.

In his latest vlog shared on his YouTube channel, Archana and her husband Parmeet Sethi’s eldest son, Aryamann Sethi, offered a tour of their Madh Island abode that has borne witness to the family’s many emotions and experiences. Interestingly, Archana bought the house despite Parmeet’s initial objections.

The 12.58-minute video opens with Aryamann and their domestic worker, Bhagyashri, showing viewers a part of the garden where their dogs mostly come to relax. But, he warns, they often spot snakes there, which is quite common in Madh Island. As Aryamann and Bhagyashri head into the house, we meet the biggest stars of their home, their two dogs, Drama and Patch.

Unlike many other celebrity houses crammed with souvenirs from around the world, Archana Puran Singh’s abode feels uncluttered, as if nothing there doesn’t belong. Almost every item harmonises with the white and beige walls. With ample light pouring in from all sides, the bungalow’s interiors appear perpetually sunlit during the day, as if waiting for photographers to capture its aesthetic charm.

Soon, we see Archana’s bedroom, where she is happily lounging on the sofa watching TV. To one side stands a four-poster bed, and the space also includes a vanity room. Though a bit embarrassed, Archana reveals she keeps a scarf by her pillow to cover her eyes on days she wants to sleep longer after the sun is up. Interestingly, from her bedroom balcony, she can see actor Pankaj Tripathi’s flat at the top of the neighbouring apartment complex.

After “irritating” his mother, Aryamann moves on to “irritate” his brother Ayushmaan, who is eating in his room. Archana shares that no one else in the house has spent even a quarter of what Ayushmaan did to modify his space. However, one can’t complain, as he has given his room an aesthetic facelift reflecting his artistic side. The video ends with Aryamann showing their massive garden and the gym where the family often comes to unwind.

Interestingly, this is just one of three properties Archana owns in the area. While the couple always had two properties in Madh Island, they bought the third, which cost eight times what they paid for the other two, a few years ago, despite Parmeet’s initial objections. He even threatened to divorce Archana if she went ahead with the purchase.

“I got quiet a cheap deal back then, that’s how I ended up buying it. I was quiet clear about it… I was like if you want to buy a bungalow… it cannot be just three rooms in it. It is not even a bungalow if you don’t have at least six-seven huge rooms. He was like, ‘See, if you talking about purchasing one, I will allow it.’ He then said, ‘if you’re planning to take two then I am divorcing you. I was like, ‘I don’t care, you divorce me or not, I am buying the bungalow.’ When he saw I was quiet serious about it, he was like ‘Okay, fine, let’s buy it.’” Despite his initial resistance, Parmeet eventually came to love the bungalow.
