Dinosaurs continue to dominate the Indian box office. Gareth Edwards’ sci-fi action adventure thriller Jurassic World Rebirth has now crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India, which is more than twice of the Bollywood film it released with last Friday on July 4 — Anurag Basu’s musical romance Metro… In Dino. Jurassic World Rebirth added another Rs 3.25 crore to its Indian box office collection on Wednesday. While this marked the lowest single-day earnings of the Hollywood movie in India so far, it allowed the film to collect Rs 50.95 crore, as compared to Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan-Metro… In Dino, which has collected less than half of that, Rs 24.4 crore.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the lion’s share in the total domestic box office collection of Jurassic World Rebirth comes from the native English version. However, on Tuesday, when the film earned Rs 4.5 crore across all four languages, the Hindi dubbed version (Rs 2.05 crore) surpassed the English one (Rs 1.85 crore) for the first time in its five-day run.

The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions followed, respectively. The language-vise distribution of the Wednesday earnings hasn’t been ascertained yet, but it’d be interesting to observe whether the Hindi dubbed version has edged past the native English one yet again. Jurassic World Rebirth became the first Hollywood film to have a Hindi premiere last week at Raj Mandir, Jaipur on Thursday, July 3.

Scarlett Johansson has taken over the lead actor duties in the Jurassic franchise from her Marvel co-star Chris Pratt. After a record-breaking opening weekend at the global box office at $318 million, Jurassic World Rebirth allowed Johansson to become the highest grossing lead actor in Hollywood history, beating fellow MCU stars Pratt, Robert Downey Jr, and Samuel L Jackson, along with Tom Hanks.

Starting this Friday, July 11, Jurassic World Rebirth will face fresh competition at the Indian box office, from Pulkit’s gangster film Maalik, starring Rajkummar Rao, in the Hindi market, but mainly from James Gunn’s superhero reboot Superman, starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan.
