Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and popstar Katy Perry have been stirring dating rumours ever since they were spotted on a dinner date. Now, the duo’s second outing in Montreal, just weeks after both became single, has the internet buzzing over how genuine their connection looks. In pictures obtained by TMZ, Trudeau can’t stop smiling as he strolls through the city with Perry for over an hour. While the two didn’t show any signs of PDA, an eyewitness claimed they might be closer than they let on.

Trudeau and Perry were first spotted on Monday, July 28, having dinner at Le Violon, a high-end restaurant in Montreal. Sources said the two looked completely at ease, chatting over cocktails and a tasting menu that included lobster, lamb gnocchi, tuna, and tartare. Trudeau picked up the tab. The restaurant’s co-owner and chef, Danny Smiles, told TMZ there was no flirting, no hand-holding, just two polite guests having a quiet evening. He was interviewed right after they left and said, “he didn’t get any dating vibes from Katy and Justin… just two friends enjoying a meal.” The two also stepped into the kitchen afterwards to thank the staff. Later that night, they were seen at Taverne Atlantic for drinks. Trudeau stood pretty close to Perry, one eyewitness claimed his hand was almost on her waist. Perry reportedly ordered a Crown Royal. Still, no PDA.

The very next day, TMZ dropped exclusive pictures of Perry and Trudeau out for a walk in Mount Royal Park. They strolled around for about an hour, just the two of them and Perry’s dog, Nugget, and Trudeau couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. Perry kept it casual in a white blouse, jeans, ballet flats, and a hat that partly hid her face. Trudeau matched the laid-back vibe in a T-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a cap. After the walk, they made a quick stop at the Ritz-Carlton to drop off Nugget and change outfits before stepping out again, this time for their second dinner date. So far, neither of their reps has said a word about what’s really going on.

Perry had just ended her nearly decade-long relationship with Orlando Bloom in June. The two got engaged four years ago and share a daughter, Daisy Dove. A joint statement confirmed the breakup and made it clear they’re now focused on co-parenting. Perry and Orlando were also spotted vacationing together recently, proof they’re still on good terms, no drama there. As for Trudeau, he announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire last year after 18 years of marriage. They have three kids, Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien.
