About Santhosh Balaraj
Santhosh was the son of renowned film producer Anekal Balaraj, best known for bankrolling the 2003 hit film Kariya, which starred Darshan in the lead role. Anekal Balaraj passed away in a road accident in 2022. Following his father’s demise, Santhosh remained unmarried and continued living with his mother.
On the professional front, Santhosh began his acting career with Kempa in 2009. He later went on to star in two more films, Olavina Ole (2012) and Janma (2013). He received acclaim for his performance in the romantic drama Olavina Ole, which also starred Neha Patil in the female lead. The film revolved around the sensitive subject of honour killings.
However, it was his performance in Ganapa (2015) that brought him fame. Directed by Prabhu Srinivas, the film’s plotline bore similarities to his father’s production, Kariya. Ganapa was a success at the box office.
