Last few days have been really tough for Karisma Kapoor who lost her ex-husband Sunjay Kapur on June 12. The businessman died after he suffered a heart attack while playing polo in London, United Kingdom. In his time of grief we saw Karisma’s sister Kareena Kapoor Khan and her actor husband Saif Ali Khan standing like a rock by her side. As Karisma turns a year old, Kareena took to her Instagram to share a warm note for her ‘strongest and the bestest’ sister.
Kareena Kapoor shared an old photo of the birthday girl with Saif and wrote, “This is my most favourite picture of you both ❤️.”
“To the strongest and the bestest girl in the universe…It’s been a tough year for us …but you know what …as they say tough times don’t last …the toughest sisters do…❤️,” added Kareena. She wrote further, “To my Sister ,my mother ,my best friend … Happy birthday My Lolo ❤️ @therealkarismakapoor.”
As soon as Kareena made the post, fans and celebs started to pour in their love and warm birthday wishes for Karisma. Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar reacted with a red heart emoji and wrote, “Happy birthday ❤️, ” while BFF Malaika Arora wrote, “Love u Lolo ❤️.” Sonam Kapoor reacted by saying, “❤️❤️❤️happy birthday Lolo we love you.”

Karisma and Sunjay were married for 13 years, they parted ways in 2016. They have two kids together — daughter Samaira and son Kiaan. Karisma and her children were present at Sunjay Kapur’s final rites, with Kareena and Saif to support them. After divorce with Karisma, Sunjay went on to marry Priya Sachdev, a socialite and model from Delhi.
Earlier this year, Saif Ali Khan was attacked at his home in Mumbai during a robbery attempt. The actor underwent surgeries after the incident. Saif and his family later spoke about how this left them shaken and concerned.
