The sudden death of Shefali Jariwala at the age of 42 on Friday night shocked the industry. Her last rites were performed in Mumbai on Saturday evening, and photos and videos of her husband Parag Tyagi breaking down while bidding his final goodbye to Shefali have been circulating online. Now, a new video has emerged showing Parag immersing Shefali’s ashes in the sea.
The clip shows Parag struggling to hold back tears as he is supported by Shefali’s and his own family members while immersing her ashes in the sea. He is then seen walking away from the beach, surrounded by grieving loved ones.
Recently, actor Varun Dhawan took to social media to slam the insensitive coverage of Shefali Jariwala’s death. He wrote, “Again, one more passing of a soul being insensitively covered by the media. I just don’t understand why do u have to cover someone’s grief. Everyone looks so uncomfortable with this. How is this benefiting anyone? & my request to my friends in the media, this isn’t the way someone would want their final journey covered.”
Shefali’s funeral and last rites were widely photographed and filmed by the paparazzi. In one emotional video, Parag is seen kissing Shefali’s forehead and caressing her cheeks before bidding her a final goodbye. Despite his grief, he also found the strength to give his shoulder to Shefali’s bier.
Earlier, Parag had requested the media not to sensationalize Shefali’s death. He said, “Please mazak drama mat banaega main sab se request karta hu, meri pari ke liye pray kijiyega aap sab log (Please don’t make this into a joke or drama. Pray for my Pari, you all). Wherever she is, she stays happy and is at peace, that’s all I want.”
