After generating significant buzz at the International Film Festival Rotterdam, the much-anticipated Tamil film Parandhu Po, directed by Ram, is all set for its theatrical release on July 4. The makers recently unveiled the film’s trailer, which promises a heartwarming and light-hearted narrative.
The trailer opens with a glimpse into a family of three, where the young son is seen attending virtual classes. When he sends a heart emoji to a fellow student, the teacher inquires about the whereabouts of his parents, who are notably absent from home. The boy’s extended indoor stay hints at underlying tensions, as the story soon follows the family embarking on a transformative journey together. Through a series of interwoven moments filled with joy, conflict, and self-discovery, Parandhu Po is a tribute to the resilient fathers and mothers who strive to succeed and prove their love to their children.
Parandhu Po, starring Mirchi Shiva, Aju Varghese, Grace Antony, and others, explores the nuanced bond between parents and children. The narrative focuses on a child’s yearning for freedom and how this desire gradually inspires the parents to embrace that same spirit of liberation. Fans will be pleased to know that the celebrated collaboration between director Ram and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja continues, though with a slight twist. While Yuvan was initially slated to compose the full soundtrack, his commitments to other major projects limited his contribution to the film’s background score. The songs, meanwhile, were composed by Santhosh Dayanidhi.
