Kapil Sharma’s comedy show on Netflix, The Great Indian Kapil Show, is experiencing a massive drop in viewership and amid that, the show recently dropped the trailer for its upcoming episode which will feature YouTubers Raj Shamani, Kamiya Jani, Samdish and Saurabh Dwivedi. In the promo, the four content creators discussed the various challenges they encounter when they interact with high profile celebrities and here, Raj finally revealed how he got Vijay Mallya to do an interview on his YouTube channel.
“Raj has interviewed a personality who even the top agencies in the country couldn’t manage to approach. How did you approach him?” Kapil asked Raj. The YouTuber said that he just chanced upon Vijay while he was taking a stroll in London. “I was out for a walk in London. I just happened to spot him and I went up to him and asked, ‘Sir, do you know who I am?’ He said ‘no’. I asked, ‘Do you know what a podcast is?’ He said ‘no’,” Raj shared.
Raj has over 11.7 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, as of July 24, and his interview with Vijay Mallya is the most popular video on his channel, with over 26 million views. The video is over 4 hours and 18 minutes long.
The Great Indian Kapil Show is currently in the middle of its third season. This season, they have hosted Salman Khan for Sikandar, the team of Metro In Dino, cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Yuzvendra Chahal , and Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, Pratik Gandhi, Jitendra Kumar.
Kapil’s show moved to Netflix in 2024 after a long run on Sony TV. The actor-comedian moved to the streaming platform with his team members including Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rajiv Thakur among others. Archana Puran Singh also moved with tam, and this season, even Navjot SIngh Sidhu has joined them on Netflix.
