Kannappa Movie Release Date: Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming film Kannappa is all set to hit the big screen on June 27. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the ambitious pan-India project is based on the legend of Kannappa, a devoted follower of Lord Shiva. Before the movie hits theatres, here’s a look at everything we know about the mythological thriller.

Advance bookings of Kannappa are now open in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and the U.S. The pan-India film, featuring both South and Bollywood superstars, is expected to be a blockbuster. In the Telugu region, the film has had a promising start, with BookMyShow reports showing more than 27,000 tickets sold in the last 24 hours. On the other hand, the U.S. witnessed a slower advance booking, since the bookings only opened yesterday, which is a bit late because most of the advance sales start at least a week before. Overall, there’s curiosity around the devotional theme of the film. Vishnu Manchu has been quite active with with film promotions, traveling from North to South India and even to Dallas. Kannappa registered advance sales of $10,3K for 263 locations in the USA, with only 486 tickets sold. It would be difficult for the film to cross Kuberaa’s pre-sales in the country.

In addition, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has approved a Rs 50 hike in the standard ticket prices for the film. A copy of the order has emerged on the internet. The official statement read, “In the circumstances reported in the reference 3rd cited, the Government after careful examination of the request of Sri M Mohan Babu, Producer of M/s Twenty Four Frames Factory Pvt. Ltd., hereby accord permission to the management of all the Theatres in the State of Andhra Pradesh to enhance the ticket rates upto Rs 50/- + GST for ‘Multiplexes’ and ‘Single Screens’, (limited to higher class tickets), over and above the admission rates mentioned in G.O.Ms.No.13, Home (General-A) Department, dated: 07.03.2022, for a period of Ten (10) days from the date of first release of the film i.e. on 27-06-2025 ‘KANNAPPA’.”
Kannappa Movie Day 1 Box Office Collection Prediction
According to early estimates by Filmibeat, Kannappa is likely to earn over Rs 30 crore on Day 1. On Thursday, trade analyst Ramesh Bala
took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Expecting #Kannappa to be a Pan-India Blockbuster with grand visuals, An epic story coming alive on screen, Multistarrer performances etc.”
The movie has reportedly been made on a budget of around Rs 200 crore. According to reports, Mohanlal has not taken any payment for his part in the film. Similarly, Prabhas, who plays the role of Rudra, has also not charged any fee. On the other hand, Akshay Kumar, who has a cameo appearance as Lord Shiva, is reported to have charged Rs 6 crore. The renumeration of other cast members hasn’t been disclosed yet. In an interview with SCREEN, Vishnu Manchu confirmed that Prabhas and Mohanlal didn’t charge for the film, and the latter even booked his own tickets to New Zealand for the shoot.

Kannappa will release on June 27 in multiple dubbed versions alongside Telugu, including Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, and English. The cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam and Brahmaji. It has been produced by Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment.
