There was a lot of speculation around Yuzvendra Chahal’s personal life in the past few months, especially his relationship rumours with RJ Mahvash. The cricketer finally broke his silence on the matter recently. In a podast with Raj Shamani, Yuzi turned down his relationship rumours with Mahvash. He also opened up about how the false rumours affected both of them.
During the conversation, he turned down the gossip and said, “It happened for the first ki main kisi ke saath dikha and vahan se logon ne start kardia. We were trending. Ab rone toh nahi lagenge na, logon ko link up karna hai karo (It happened for the first time that I was seen with someone in public so people started speculating. We can’t start crying, if people link us up then so be it).”
The bowler revealed that it was difficult for Mahvash to read the ‘homewrecker’ tags ok social media everyday. “Unhone bhi clear kia hai. It was very hard for her. Unko house-breaker, homewrecker bola gaya, bahut ganda ganda bola gaya, ab yeh Yuzi ke saath kyu aayi hai. I felt bad, ki jiss dost ne mujhe help kia to get out of this, aapne usi se link up kardia (She has also clarified. It was very hard for her. She was called house-breaker, homewrecker, all sorts of bad names, people asked why is she with Yuzi. I felt bad that the friend who helped me get out of this, I was linked up with her).”
Even if the duo was going out with their friends, the headlines were focused on Yuzvendra and Mahvash. “Wherever we were going, chaahe hum 4 logon mein baithe hain, photo crop bas hum dono ki hui. It’s still there on social media, saying that we are on a dinner date. Aur dost the vahan par, photo ek ke saath hi aaya hai. It happened too much that we couldn’t even go out with our friends anymore, thinking ek aur story aayegi (Even if we were with friends, our cropped photos will be used. There were other friends but only our photos were used. We stopped going out with friends thinking one more story will appear),” he said.
He added, “I knew what social media is, but for her, it happened for the first time. Obviously, unka saara kaam hi yahi hai. If someone opens it, reads such comments about themselves, which is not even true, toh obviously bura lagta hai.”
Yuzi then asked her to ignore the allegations and move on. “She said that, ‘Yuzi yaar, main Kahan?’ I am feeling so bad as a girl that people are saying such things about me. I tried explaining it to her that it’s social media, just ignore. But insaan kitna ignore kare? Her entire work is on Instagram, plus her family kept questioning about what’s going on. Vo cheez ka asar padta hai. Because I have been there, I knew this would happen.”

Recalling an incident when they were spotted outside a hotel, he shared, “You can’t really hide. I was at JW Marriot for a shoot and she offered to drop me at the airport from there because she was around at that time. When we were waiting for the valet, someone clicked and cropped the picture in a way… ki chal kya raha hai… main apne baal theek karaha tha (I was fixing my hair). The photo was uploaded and 100 cheap cheezein boldi, ki hotel ye vo..That’s very cheap, mujhe vo cheez bahut bura laga (People misconstrued and said 10 cheap things. I felt very bad). How can you say something like this for a girl? It is difficult for both, but in India, it’s for girls.”
