Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara recorded another historic weekend at the domestic box office. But on day 11 of its run, the Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda-starrer finally saw a major fall in numbers. On its second Monday, it hovered just under the Rs 10 crore mark, thus slipping down to single digits in a day for the first time since its release. Saiyaara collected Rs 9.5 crore on Monday, which was a major decline from its Sunday earnings of Rs 30 crore. That was the maximum the film had earned in a single day after the previous Sunday (day 3), when it collected Rs 35.75 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.
Throughout last week, Saiyaara delivered double-digit collections even on weekdays. It passed the Monday test with flying colours, adding another Rs 24 crore to its total collection on day 4. After scoring Rs 25 crore and Rs 21.5 crore on Tuesday (day 5) and Wednesday (day 6), respectively, the film dropped below Rs 20 crore on Thursday (day 7) and Rs 18 crore on Friday (day 8).
The current domestic box office collection of Saiyaara now stands at Rs 256.75 crore. While the film has already surpassed several major movies of 2025 — Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 (Rs 198 crore), Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (Rs 178 crore), and Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par (Rs 165 crore), it has a long way to go before it can challenge Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava (over Rs 600 crore) to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of this year. Saiyaara has now passed the lifetime domestic nett collections of films such as The Kashmir Files, Brahmastra, and Singham Again.
Saiyaara benefitted from lack of competition last weekend after Devgn pushed his action comedy Son of Sardaar 2 to August 1. Suri’s film has another four days to perform sans competition, after which it’ll have to contend with not only Son of Sardaar 2, but also fellow intense romantic drama, Shazia Iqbal’s Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri.
Saiyaara revolves around the love story of a tormented singer and a no-nonsense lyricist. Backed by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, it marks the debut of YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani as producer. It marks the film debut of Ahaan Panday, the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday and the nephew of Chunky Panday, and Aneet Padda, who turned heads with her performance in Prime Video India show Big Girls Don’t Cry last year.

On Monday, director Siddharth Anand took to his X handle to shower praises on Saiyaara. “A little late to the party. Had heard so much about the film already. Apart from it being the blockbuster of course. Went in to the film with all these expectations. And yet! Just LOVED IT!!! Just wow! Here’s a film maker at his finest! His craft at its peak. His conviction unhinged!”
