Son of Sardaar 2 box office collection Day 2: Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, was expected to open strong at the box office. A sequel to the successful comedy film Son of Sardaar, the movie earned Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day and witnessed a slight rise in collections on Day 2.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Son of Sardaar 2 saw a 3.45% uptick in collections, earning Rs 7.50 crore and bringing its total to Rs 14.75 crore in India.
Son of Sardaar 2 recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 25.94% on Saturday. Morning shows saw 8.05% occupancy, afternoon shows registered 22.96%, and evening shows rose to 28.10%. The highest footfall came during the night shows, which reported an occupancy of 44.65%.
The Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta gave Son of Sardaar 2 a rating of 2 stars. She wrote in her review, “Ajay Devgn leads this enterprise which wants to be a laugh-a-minute, madcap caper, but keeps slackening? Pair your hero with an age-appropriate leading lady, and give him a few chuckle-worthy lines.”
The Ajay Devgn-starrer is currently facing tough competition at the box office from Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s debut film Saiyaara, which has touched the Rs 285 crore mark in India.
Back in 2012, Son of Sardaar had a box office clash with Yash Raj Films’ Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Anushka Sharma. However, despite the mighty clash, Son of Sardaar managed to do good business at the worldwide box office.
