Actor Ajay Devgn is all set to return to the big screen with Son of Sardaar 2, the sequel of his 2012 film Son of Sardaar. The movie is all set for a theatrical release on July 25. Unlike last time, viewers will witness newer additions as Sonakshi Sinha is replaced by Mrunal Thakur and Sanjay Dutt by Ravi Kishan.
On Thursday, the makers of Son of Sardaar 2 shared an announcement video promising lot of comedy and chaos. They introduced the film’s characters including Ajay Devgn, who will reprise his role as Jassi.
Directed by Action Jackson cinematographer Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar 2 also stars Sanjay Mishra, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, Sahil Mehta and the late Mukul Dev.
Son of Sardaar 2 is produced under the banner A Devgn Films and SOS 2 Limited production.

Son of Sardaar (2012) was directed Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge director Ashwni Dhir. This film was a remake of the 2010 Telugu film Maryada Ramanna and managed to earn well at the box office despite having a clash with Yash Chopra’s final directorial Jab Tak Hai Jaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The 2012 film starred Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla, Arjan Bajwa, Puneet Issar, Mukul Dev, Vindu Dara Singh, Tanuja and Sanjay Mishra. Salman Khan and Mukesh Tiwari made special appearances in the movie.

Recently, Sonakshi Sinha reacted to being replaced by Mrunal ThaKur in Son of Sardaar 2. She told PTI, “I haven’t had a conversation with anyone. But I’m sure they have a good reason, maybe the story or the character is not the same in the sequel. If they had replaced my character, then I would be worried. But I don’t think that’s the case. I’m not too upset about it. I wish them all the very best.”
