“I am obsessed with plants, nature and wood,” Suniel Shetty said as he introduced his farmhouse, named Jahaan, in Khandala, which is a two-hour drive from Mumbai. In an earlier interview, Suniel gave a tour of his breathtaking Khandala farmhouse, located on a hilltop. The house is surrounded by hundreds of plants, features earthy interiors, and is equipped with all the modern technology .
The first thing that strikes you at Suniel’s farmhouse isn’t the house itself but the panoramic view of the surrounding forest and the seemingly endless greenery. Situated atop a hill, the house offers stunning vistas. During the interaction, Suniel shared that when he first saw the property, it was barren land with only a few trees and some cactus plants. He decided to build on that and transform it into a flourishing green estate.
Speaking to Bharti Singh on her YouTube channel, Suniel revealed why he chose to invest in a barren piece of land in the first place. “People today say, ‘You must see Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse,’ I built it 16 years ago! Back then, its financial valuation was perhaps (nothing) but my idea was to grow up with my children, Athiya and Ahan, to spend time with them over the weekend, do farming, all the trees there are planted by us. What had rocks before, there are more than 400 trees there. The house was built for this. That it is valuable now is a different story,” he said.

Inside Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse
The house interiors feature abundant use of wood and rustic furniture, giving it a distinctly earthy vibe. With high ceilings and wall-to-wall doors and windows, the space invites nature indoors. The home is decorated with various house plants, and one of the courtyards has an open ceiling to allow trees to grow uninterrupted. The house also offers generous seating with large, comfortable sofas and is adorned with rural artifacts.

Suniel also shared that he preserved some of the original large rocks from the property and incorporated them into the interior design — both as decor elements and as a tribute to what they built upon. One wall of the living room is devoted entirely to his collection of masks, while the floors are made of wood-coloured marble, enhancing the rustic-meets-modern aesthetic.

Suniel Shetty constructed farmhouse around a stream
The picturesque farmhouse also features a natural water body that flows through the property. Suniel explained that the house was constructed around this natural stream, and a bridge was built over it to connect different parts of the farm. Every room in the house opens out to a unique outdoor space, providing seamless indoor-outdoor living.

Theatre room, swimming pool, and convertible-roof sitting area
Despite the natural, rustic surroundings, the house is equipped with all modern amenities. There’s a large swimming pool located in the front lawn, adjoining the lush garden. Suniel also built a theatre room to enjoy movie nights with his family.

But perhaps the most eye-catching part of the house is the outdoor sitting area, which features a convertible roof that opens and closes at the touch of a button — offering a spectacular view of the night sky.

Farmhouse value
Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul tied the knot at the same farmhouse. According to Magic Bricks, the property is currently valued at around Rs 20 crore.

Luxurious apartment in Mumbai’s posh area
Suniel Shetty also owns a luxurious apartment at Prithvi Apartments on Altamount Road — the same upscale area in Mumbai where Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia is located. The apartment, which spans 2,000 sq. ft. of carpet area, is designed with Scandinavian minimalism and Indian influences. It’s estimated to be worth between Rs 15-20 crore, according to Investor Mart.

Joint properties worth crores with son Ahan Shetty and son-in-law KL Rahul
In 2024, Suniel and Ahan together invested in a 1,200 sq. ft. property in Mumbai’s upscale Khar area, valued at Rs 8.01 crore. In April this year, he jointly purchased a Rs 9.85 crore plot in Thane West with KL Rahul.
Italian restaurant in Mumbai
Suniel Shetty was one of the first Bollywood actors to venture into the hospitality business. His father once worked at a restaurant, and Suniel learned the business from an early age. Although he eventually shut down his first venture — a restaurant and bar called H2O in Mumbai — he later opened Little Italy, a fine-dining restaurant in the city that serves authentic Italian cuisine.

Apart from working in films and owning properties in Mumbai and Mangalore, Suniel Shetty has invested in startups, including Pune-based online fitness company SQUATS. According to reports, Shetty’s net worth is around Rs 125 crore.
